Fishing This Week..
I am suppose to go fishing this week on lower McKenzie with a friend. Apparently there is a good PMD hatch happening around 1 pm and there has been good success this time of year.
This time of year also brings the unknowns of the river. This weekend it was unusually warm and beautiful but snow is predicted by the end of the week. The rain is returning, colder air temps and water being released from the dams in preparation for the winter snow.
All these factors can make a familiar place to fish very different very quickly. So research research. Look up the river charts, ask your local fly shop, or a guide you may know so you are not getting in over your head.
