So I have been fortunate a few times in my life to go visit Palm Springs and the La Quinta with my bosses who live in a fabulous home that overlooks a beautiful golf course and a water feature and in the back drop are the beautiful hills.
One of my favorite things besides being in the warm sunshine, was waking up every morning, taking my cup of coffee and sitting outside by their pool; listen to the birds chirp and the players putting by in their golf carts. After a small breakfast, one of my bosses would be off to the golf course and my other boss and I would either bask in the pool and have cocktails, or we would go into town and go shopping and have lunch. Once the man of the house would come home we would shower and get gussied up for a nice dinner out. This wa always fun for me as I don’t get to go anywhere particularly exciting to eat so it would be a new adventure every evening. And it was particularly beautiful in the evening because of the warm air, and the mountains would be lit up at the base….casting of a slight hue After dinner we would generally come home and P & I would take a night swim under the stars….
HIGHLIGHTS OF SEPERATE TRIPS WOULD INCLUDE:
1. Watching a professional golf tournament and all the people who were watching along.
2. Shopping on El Paseo and watching the glitz and glam walk by
3. Going to the Follies Show ( a must do at least once)
4. Going to the Nest and Dancing
5. Walking down old Palm Springs and seeing where all the old movie stars hung out, and just people watching.
Of course there are many many things to do, like tennis matches, polo watching, art festivals, movie festivals. I would love to drive down to see the Sultan Sea sometime, or drive and see Joshua Tree. Both on my lists of places to visit if I travel south again.
So if you are planning to go then I supremely recommend some of those things and the best time to visit is April, after that the weather gets too warm and everyone starts shutting down once summer hits. All the snowbirds fly home for the summer….
ENJOY YOUR TRIP
