So this weekend I have watched many movies…but two that I rented are Crazy Stupid Love with a huge cast of great beautiful players…. Steve Carell, Ryan Gosling, Emma Stone, Julianne Moore, Marissa Tomei and Kevin Bacon… A story of a couple deciding to divorce (Steve-Julianne) and the other cast of characters play into the pieces oddly. My youngest daughter wanted to rent this movie~although she had seen it before, but she wanted me to see.

Last night I rented Two for the Road Audrey Hepburn and Albert Finney about a young couple going through the different cycles of life together, and it comes down to what they want to do in the end. End their marriage, or continue to work and keep it alive. Audrey Hepburn is one of my favorite Actress’, but I didn’t particularly care for her role in this movie with Albert Finney. Maybe because it was not the usual love story, but at the same time it brought out her character as I have seen her before in many other movies. Not a big Finney fan, and this movie didn’t change my mind.
Going through a divorce almost two years ago now…these movies brought to my mind- young love (as I was) Married at 18. Children and how they can be a force as to what decision you make or do not make. Mid life crisis…. it happens to many of us – men and women alike. Is Love as strong as portrayed in both of these movies… to withstand affairs, midlife crisis, hurt, abuse and children.
Was probably not the best choice of movies for me this weekend for many reasons, but definately a one time must watch for both of these. Somewhat realistic and somewhat NOT…. Ryan Gosling, Marissa Tomei, Kevin Bacon still very good and good looking…. Audrey Hepburn skinny but beautiful as always. Classic beauty forever in my mind.
