Doughnut Tradition Continues…

About 20 years ago I decided to try making raised doughnuts. It was a Halloween tradition that has stayed.
This year I tried a new recipe and it was delicious. I prepared two batches of dough last night and placed in the refrigerator overnight as the recipe stated.
When I returned home from work I rolled them out and then had a helper cut them out. They rose nicely as different family members arrived As I cooked I also enjoyed playing with my grandson and talking with my kids, their friends and my new Iranian friends. They didn’t understand Halloween but they did come in costume. Erfan wore a fishing vest, held a fishing rod and cut out a paper fish. Hadis- his beautiful wife brought some amazing Persian treats. They joined me as we took my grandson and his friend trick or treating. It was a fun night in my tiny place filled with people, candy, doughnuts, apple cider and laughter.

Very tasty treats indeed, and I’m sure your helper was a big help to you.
