Wednesday evening I was asked if I would attend a jazz concert at our local theatre.
I was blessed to see Jazz at Lincoln Center with Wynton Marsalis. They performed music drawn from Benny Goodman, Duke Ellington, Billy Strayhorn and Mary Lous Williams.
Mr. Marsalis gave an intro and brief bio of each song they were about to perform. Duke Ellington performed all over the world. One of the things he enjoyed was walking around the area he was visiting and then write a piece that best described it to his soul. One of the pieces he wrote was on his visit to Iran and it was Isphahan

This 15 piece ensemble had my toes tapping, mind humming and heart smiling the whole evening long. It was a performance of a lifetime and for me to be in the audience I felt darn lucky. Spoiled in fact.
