I have always wanted to go to Paris. I studied French in Middle School and in High School and I did many papers on different experiences France has to offer. The Chateaus, the people, the food…mmmm.
So I actually was delighted to watch this Romantic Comedy Fantasy Midnight in Paris. It offers up a story line, that is not new, but it is always interesting. What if you were able to travel back into time? The cinematographer Darius Khondji did an excellent job capturing Paris’ dreamlike qualities in day and at night. The film also shows bits of Paris as it may have been in the Golden Age which makes it even more remarkable and now on my bucket list of places to visit.
Owen Wilson, Rachel McAdems, Kathy Bates, Adreine Brody and Marion Cotillard who I find amazingly beautiful all played in this film well. I am not a big fan of Woody Allen (dare I say that), but this would probably be one I would say he did an excellent job directing.
The last movie I specifically remember Marion Cotillard in was A Good Year. Although she has been in many movies I have seen she is a particularly good actress, beautiful and her accent is wonderful.

Storyline
Gil and Inez travel to Paris as a tag-along vacation on her parents’ business trip. Gil is a successful Hollywood writer but is struggling on his first novel. He falls in love with the city and thinks they should move there after they get married, but Inez does not share his romantic notions of the city or the idea that the 1920s was the golden age. When Inez goes off dancing with her friends, Gil takes a walk at midnight and discovers what could be the ultimate source of inspiration for writing.
